The Pigeon House Studios was set up in 2010 by Anne Ffrench and Brendan Power to house and support multi disciplinary artists through affordable artist-run studios. The vision was to create a space where contemporary visual artists, makers and designers can professionally engage in their own artistic discipline and in doing so foster an environment of growth and a high standard of practice.

Artist Talks at the Studios, Kinsale Arts Week 2011

The Pigeon House studios hosted an afternoon of talks and discussion on Sunday 10th July 2011. We were delighted to have Katherine Boucher Beug talk about the use of colour in reference to her own work, and in the broader sense with reference to Joseph Albers colour theory. This was followed in the evening by a lively discourse led by Stephen Brandes on Contemporary Art and Traditional Craft. What can I say, except it had to be continued to the pub! Sincere thanks to Katherine and Stephen for such an insightful day and to all who came, drank tea, ate cake and contributed in the discussions.
